HIGH KNEE SOCKS IN SPRING 2010??? YAYYY OR NAYY??
Sock styles & lengths that are in for 2010
It goes without saying that all manner of socks aren't suddenly a fashion trend: pair your Louboutin heels with a pair of gym socks and the fashion gods shall undoubtedly frown upon you. Rather, to compliment your 2010 wardrobe consider investing in three predominant styles:
- Knee high socks
- Over the knee socks
- Thigh high socks
Undoubtedly thigh high socks will make the greater statement, but styled correctly any can make an outfit.
How to style knee high socks & thigh high socks in 2010
Though I'm not a big fan of rules for fashion trends (fashion trends primarily come to be courtesy of people breaking the rules) there are some simple pointers to get the thigh high socks and knee high socks fashion trend right.
- Pick the length wisely: they have to suit your body's shape.
- If you've got big thighs, thigh high socks will draw too much attention to them
- Knee socks that finish below the knee may compliment your bone structure more than those knee high socks which finish above the knee. Try both styles on.
- Knee high socks that cut off just below the knee are more likely to give you a slimmer look, as going only a short distance above the knee could result in socks that 'bulge' on your knee.
- Thigh high socks provide a perfect alternative to exposed stay-ups from 2010's lingerie as outerwear fashion trend.
- If you're short, knee high socks that cut off below the knee are best paired with a shorter hemline to expose more leg and, thus, imply greater height. The hem should be no lower than the middle of your thigh.
- If you're in a colder climate then knitted socks might work for you. But avoid chunky and overt knitted socks: they were last a fashion trend back in 2007, and trends seldom repeat themselves so quickly.
- Avoid pairing knee high socks with tartan and plaid skits unless you can otherwise avoid the school girl overtones. The Gossip Girl look for girls is fast becoming a faux pas.
- Don't be afraid to layer. Knee high socks and over the knee socks worn over sheer, patterned stockings can add a whole new dimension to an outfit.
- Nor should you be afraid to colour and texture, particularly if you want the socks to be a focal piece of your outfit
HOT PANTS AND BOY SHORTS FOR SPRING 2010!!!!
Once upon a time hot pants were considered more suited to a gymnasium than the streets. But then, in late 2007, the leotard came back into fashion. While it didn't peak on the streets until 2009, and was often worn under skirts, shorts or long furs, in the case of Kate Moss, its prevalence guaranteed that hot pants would indeed be worn by forward thinking fashionisers.
And so there it was on the Spring 2010 catwalks. And again in the front row. Always on the confident personality. Always on a great figure.
Those two latter parts are key to this fashion trend. It is not for the faint of heart, nor those who aren't confident about their figure.

Baker's shoes have been a personal favorite of mine since I considered myself old enough to wear heels. Their boots are my fetish! I have yet to see a pair of Bakers boots that I did not like, and even today I have not yet been let down. What I like the most in this particular season is their exquisite selection of Ankle Boots. CELIA AMMERMAN: TOP MODEL CYCLE 12 CONTESTANT
Prior to Top Model, Ammerman had been featured in Exposure &, Kentucky, CiN Weekly Magazine, Ohio, CCQ Magazine, deliriusdesign.com, NY & Borderline Magazine. Her runway credits included: Belvedere Vodka, NY, Aveda Hair Show, Ohio, Beaux Arts Runway, Kentucky.
Following her appearance on America's Next Top Model, Ammerman shot her first fashion spread for the New York Post style section. She showcased her top five looks for the spring season, including a Juicy Couture swimsuit, a Brooks Brothers prep jacket and trousers, a Matthew Williamson nightdress from H&M, an Alice + Olivia belted halter dress and a Kate Moss Topshop jacket. In addition, thanks to challenge wins on the show she has appeared in an ad for CoverGirl on Walmart.com and in the June 2009 issue of Seventeen. She has also been featured on Racked.com as well as in the September 2009 issue of Allure Magazine and Short Hair Magazine.
Ammerman appeared in the Vogue accessories supplement in the September 2009 issue of Vogue Italia, modeling Prada sunglasses
MODEL Q'S 2 CENTS: Celia's run on top model was very impressive. She dazzled the judges with her exceptional style at every elimination. Her style was so unique that even one of the top model judges suggested that she be her stylist. But Celia was not thinking about taking the fashion designer path. She had her eyes on the prize of becoming America's Next Top Model!!! Even after she was eliminated, she didn't give up on modeling and has been quite successful since the show ended. She betta worrrrrk!!!!

JADE COLE: A MATURE BEAUTY

Jade Cole is a 27 year old fashion model. She finished third on Cycle 6 of America's Next Top Model.
JADE'S RUN ON ANTM (AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL)
Cole was the first girl to be selected to competed in Cycle 6. She won 3 challenges and got 1 first call-out. She also holds the record, conjointly with Ann Markley andBre Scullark for having landed the most time in the bottom two (5). She eventually finished 3rd due to her age and bad personality.
CAREER
Since the show, she has modelled for Sistahs of Harlem, Urban, Kung Faux, Black Men Magazine, Apple Bottoms and She Caribbean. She has been nominated for two Fiercee Awards in 2008 (most dramatic exit and biggest makeover meltdown) but lost in both. She was also featured on BET's RIP THE RUNWAY.
MODEL Q'S 2 CENTS: Ms. Jade Cole is a true inspiration to me because she embodies what an older model who has the look and spunky persona. She dazzled the judges on ANTM and was memorable in the hearts of many viewers. She motivates me to be in this industry and the notion that anything is possible no matter your age is exemplary in her story.
