'Vinter i New York' Model Q featured in Published Swedish Article

Hello ALL

One blistering New York Winter Evening, I ventured off to my favorite Whole Foods Market store in Manhattan, Located at 59th street Columbus Circle, enjoying the vibes of the Columbus Circle cozy shopping area. As I was exiting the escalator, A women by the name of Marina Malmgren approached me, first intrigued by my abundance of fine accesories/jewelry, what have you, and second assuming I was a model, which wasn't an assumption in the least far off target :-). She introduced herself to me and informed me that she was a freelance Photographer/journalist for a popular newspaper in Sweden and that she was in New York doing an article on the "Street Fashion" in NYC. She went on to indulge in the fact that my jewelry was wonderful and asked if she could take a few photos of me and my jewelry pieces. Me, being a lover of being in front of the camera, happily replied.... yes!

Today, those images that Marina took were published in the Swedish Newspaper entitled GP. An article highlighting myself along with 6 others Ms. Marina spotted, are the basis of this article and can be found on the website www.gp.se. Introductory Webisode!! #1

Going back to the basics of why I started my blog in the 1st place, I am starting my webisode series. Here, I will post videos every week from my daily life as it relates to modeling. From shows, shoot, castings, EVERYTHING!! You will see it right here in real time! What gave me the inspiration for this was when I was talking with a good friend of mine and he suggested I do this, and I thought, hey, why not! Although, I can not promise I will be able to give you guys access to everything I'm doing but I will definitely try my best! The purpose of me doing this is to inspire as well as to show viewers the not so glamorous side of modeling and what I go through day in and day out! Model Q was among the 38 models to walk in this year's Pink Rocks the Runway fashion show!! Hand selected by Christian Siriano himself, Model Q Strutted her stuff in a beautiful dress from Christian Siriano's Spring/Summer 2012 Collection. Check out the pics and info about the show below!!

Pink Rocks the Runway™ is an annual breast cancer awareness fashion event that combines couture fashion and live rock music with an important early detection message. The show is headlined by celebrity designer Christian Siriano. In addition, the evening celebrates and features breast cancer survivors under 40 with a pink couture gown fashion show. There are sure to be some surprises!

PRR is a project hosted by and in support of Pink Jams! Working to promote breast cancer awareness to men and women under the age of 40, Pink Jams! works to eradicate the misconception that awareness, self-exam, and mammograms should begin at 40. Learn more about Pink Jams!

At the conclusion of the event, Pink Jams! will provide a special grant to the Capital Breast Care Center in support of their important work. The Capital Breast Care Center, chosen as the 2011 community grant recipient, works to provide women in the Washington, DC area with mammograms and health screenings regardless of their ability to pay. Currently, the CBCC is diagnosing breast cancer at two times the national rate.

Former “Project Runway” contestant turned popular designer Mychael Knight premiered his Spring 2012 line for NY Fashion Week in SOho last night (9/10/11).

TheYBF.com was on the scene. And we asked a few questions to the celebs like Trina, Olivia, and Gloria Govan who were sitting front row. And we picked out our fave looks that came down the runway.

Mychael tapped models Jessica White, Dani Evans (Top Model Winner), and Nik Pace (former Top Model contestant) to hit the runway for his show. Dani’s looking all kinds of hot at this show. Loves it. Mychael said to us about his life and dream of showing at NY Fashion Week.

"Life is fun! I’m in a good place right now. This is a very happy moment. This whole collection brought out memories of my youth..I’m just in a really happy place right now. You have to work for it. This whole process was hard as hell. I cried a lot this year. You cant give up”
